Spread

The night is black, and the streets too
The houses and bedrooms
The hotels and cinema isles – all black
The blackness we try to hide,
The numbness we fight against
The lies we inherit within
With the darkness we race

In the rush for immortality
We spread wide the insecurity
And the blackness that we fight against
The unknown we pit our lives against
Breeds the causality
The greed, the gluttony
The lust.  All just holes to fill
Till we forget what we touch.
All just darkness in which we are now lost

'I don't care what anyone thinks.'
'I'm just living my life.'
'What I do is my own business.'

All the lies we tell with ambivalence.
