Like the dirt upon your face.
Like your skirt
Dragged numb through the rain.
Black as the marks that still linger in place.
Black as the dirt on your face.
There is black in your pockets,
Black rolls from your eyes,
You sink black, your blood is black
Black is laced to your body,
And Black pours from your mouth.
You drink black, you smoke black,
You're breathing it out.
Black as the clouds
In an irrelevant sky.
Black as the pupil
In the pool of your eye.
Black as the night woven tapestry scratched
Black, upon black,
GreenDrink to remember,
Forget drinking to forget.
If I were to cut out all the bad times,
Oh, there would be little left.
Just give me half a' bitter dear
And I'll chase it with regret.
