Literature Text

Morning in the changing room
Not much change, they point at you
"You're not it" is the hook at
every line of thought
What they want, and who they are
and who they think they will be
You have been caught in a war not of your choosing
A casualty to the worlds vainest musings
the children point until they twist you
into a monster not of your creation.

And you believe them.

This girl,
You would have seen her coming.
Big hair and big eyes
She wants to stand out
She wants to be a dancer, a singer,
she will snub those unsatisfactory
take at least five 'lovers' by age sixteen,
(Which apparently is just calling 'legal'
now)
and her whole plan of being different
and setting the world to rights.
only seems to involve fitting in.

But she believes it.

Two lovers crossing a field
He looks at her, once, twice, she
smiles her replies
What love could be more perfect?
What love could be more pure?
And as if awaking from a dream
He hears the laughter behind him.

Soft laughter, controlled
downwards to the grass.

"She's really nice,

isn't she?" he asks his friends.

Still, he would swear he had an opinion
of his own.

I can only speculate as to
how long we will have to wait
until the day it comes
when everyone is good enough
for everyone.
If you can't already gather, I write these in about five minutes after I think them up. My attention span is that short.

I must write them or I forget them, consign them to somewhere yet to be rediscovered. My memory is that short.

I must do what I can, when I can or I will procrastinate.

=======================================

I hate that since people can't be bothered to try and save the environment unless someone is dangling some money in front of them, how are we ever going to take responsibility for the damage our attitudes and general 'copying' behavior causes.

I hate the people who rub themselves so raw they can't even feel what you mean any more.

I hate people who can't see past a smile, or can't see without it.

I hate people who date their dealers.

I hate myself but you should already know that.
